Working with Studio Anrick we got to reinterpret an age old bedtime story into an engaging and interactive VR game that explores the use of sight, sound and movement to unravel a story narrated by Simon Callow.

The story of Rok has been passed told through generations in the Middle East to get children to go to sleep at night. Rok is mythical bird that comes to take them away if they stray too far from their homes at night.

The VR experience brings Rok to life as players try and progress through a mystical world by casting runes using the Google Daydream remote, unknowingly taking themselves closer to meet Rok – a foe not a friend.

VR is an immersive experience on its own but working with Simon Callow to narrate the story brought an added sense of authenticity and gravitas to the experience, the well known voice of the actor creating a counter to the otherworldly visual landscapes and soundtrack.
